Today, we are making a Creamy steak pasta. This dish combines comfort and sophistication. This recipe combines steak with a velvety sauce to create a meal perfect for any occasion. With its luscious flavours and satisfying texture, this dish transforms everyday ingredients into a gourmet experience.

Italians are renowned for their popular creamy pasta dishes, such as Fettuccine Alfredo and Creamy Carbonara. A quick look at Pinterest reveals a variety of pasta dishes featuring creamy sauces and steak, but very few include the actual recipes. This inspired me to create a dish that looks just as delicious as those shown in the pictures. This fusion dish combines elements of Western and Italian cuisines. And, if you’re a pasta lover craving some protein, this meal is perfect for you. The creamy sauce pairs wonderfully with the well-cooked steak, and the pasta offers satisfaction with every bite.

Choosing the right steak for creamy steak pasta is essential for achieving the best flavor and texture. Ribeye steak is a fantastic option because it is tender and flavorful, thanks to its marbling, which adds bold taste to the dish. If you prefer a leaner cut, sirloin steak is also an excellent choice. It has great flavor while having less fat than ribeye. For a richer experience, consider using filet mignon. This cut is exceptionally tender and buttery, offering a delightful twist to your creamy steak pasta. Remember to cook each type of steak to your preferred level of doneness for the best results. The base of the sauce is garlic cloves, onions, and mushrooms, which add an earthy depth.
If you’re wondering what type of pasta would work well with this dish, you’ll be pleased to know that this creamy pasta sauce is suitable for various options, such as Fettuccine, Penne, Pappardelle, and Tagliatelle. However, feel free to choose any pasta you prefer. What is Pappardelle? It is a broad, ribbon-shaped pasta and is quite sturdy, making it an excellent pairing for steak.
Heavy cream and butter create a velvety consistency, while white flour is a thickening agent. Reserve pasta water as it will loosen up the sauce and give it a glossy finish. A splash of lime juice with a selection of seasonings such as onion powder, dried oregano, and salt adds a brininess to the dish. Black olives and sun-dried tomatoes add a tangy sweetness to the dish.
Rinse, dry, and slice the mushrooms. Slice the onion and mince the garlic cloves. Boil water for the pasta, and follow the instructions on the pasta package to cook it.

Preheat a pan or skillet over high heat. Melt the butter and then add the steak to the pan. Cook the steak for 2 minutes per side, or until golden brown. Be careful not to overcook, as this can make the meat tough or rubbery. Aim for medium-rare to medium doneness to keep the steak juicy and tender. After cooking, let the rib-eye steak rest for 6 minutes, covered, to retain heat.

Adjust the temperature to medium-low in a separate pan, then drizzle in 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Then, add the minced garlic cloves and the sliced onion. Sauté the ingredients for 3 minutes while stirring occasionally. Set aside the vegetables when cooked. Preheat the pan on medium-low heat. Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and the mushrooms to the pan.
First, cook the mushrooms without adding any spices for 2 minutes. When the mushrooms begin to release water, add the spices. Make sure to stir well to coat the mushrooms with the herbs, and cook for another 2 minutes.

Transfer the cooked onion and garlic into the pan with the mushrooms. Add the flour and heavy cream. Stir to mix the sauce base and cook for 2 minutes on medium-low heat.

Combine the sauce and pasta, thoroughly coating the pasta. Slice the steak into chunky bite-sized pieces and place them on top of the pasta. Garnish with sun-dried tomatoes and black olives before serving.

This dish can win your loved ones’ hearts with its elegance and simplicity. Creating a restaurant-quality meal experience at home at a fraction of the cost is a win-win for everyone. The best part is that it is surprisingly easy to make and uses minimal ingredients.
Creamy steak pasta pairs well with a number of different side dishes. To complete your experience, consider serving with roast vegetables or a crisp green salad. Crusty garlic bread or a French baguette is perfect for soaking up any leftover sauce.
Store in the fridge for two to four days in an airtight container. Reheat on the stove or in the microwave.
One of the key components of making delicious steak at home is that most chefs use butter to cook steak in restaurants; do not leave it out. The thickness of the steak also matters when cooking it. The ribeye steak used in this recipe is 2/3 of an inch thick and takes 2 minutes over high heat to reach medium-rare. Fresh herbs like thyme, rosemary, or parsley can add a herby flavor to the pasta, which goes very well with the creamy sauce. In place of the white mushrooms, you can also use shiitake, cremini, or portobello in this recipe.
