This will open up the chicken breast for maximum flavour absorption.

Gather the ingredients, such as butter, fresh cream, mustard, honey, ground nutmeg, olive oil, paprika powder, garlic powder, fresh basil, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Divide the basil into two sets: one to make the sauce base and the other to garnish.

Sauté the garlic and Chicken: Heat the pot to medium-low heat before cooking. Add a generous dollop of butter and throw in the garlic cloves. Add a tablespoon of olive oil and the butter. Butter has relatively less water in itself and quickly dries out in heat. For this reason, cooking oil helps keep the butter hydrated while sautéing. At that point, add the Chicken. Add the balance of the ingredients and sauté for two minutes whilst continuously coating the Chicken with the spices.

Cook the sauce base: Add the rest of the condiments, like honey and fresh cream, and the other spices, like thyme, salt, and pepper. Also, add the fresh basil to the pot. Adjust the temperature to low at this point and simmer for thirty minutes with the lid closed. Gently stir around every ten minutes. Garnish with freshly chopped basil and serve immediately.

Ingredients

  • 900 grams Chicken breast
  • 7 Garlic cloves – whole
  • ½ cup Fresh Basil – roughly chopped

Condiments

  • 4 Tbsp Butter
  • 2 Tbsp Olive oil / Cooking oil
  • 2 Tbsp Mustard
  • 1 Tbsp Honey
  • ½ cup Milk

Spices

  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Paprika powder
  • 1 tsp Dried Thyme
  • ½ tsp Ground Nutmeg
  • Salt – to taste
  • Pepper – to taste

Instructions

  • Prep the Ingredients: Wash and clean the chicken breasts if they are too large. Slice them evenly. Peel the garlic. Gather all the ingredients.
  • Sauté the Chicken: Heat the olive oil in a pot over medium-high heat. Then, add a generous helping of butter. Add the garlic and chicken. Sauté for two minutes.
  • Cook the Sauce: Add honey and the rest of the spices, such as thyme, cream, honey, salt, pepper, and basil. Cover and simmer on low for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Top with fresh basil and serve hot.
