Lamb’s vibrant and savoury flavour differentiates it from more commonly consumed meats like beef and chicken. Its tender nature makes it a firm favourite in kitchens around the world. The unique taste comes from its distinctive fat profile and diet. Contrary to what most people think, Lamb does not have a gamey flavour.
If you’ve purchased Lamb in the past and felt it had that sort of flavour, then you can easily fix this by adding some lemon juice to the marination process. The lemon juice will remove that gamey taste with ease. For this recipe, we’re cooking the lamb chops to medium-rare, which is the optimum way to enjoy this type of meat. The best part about Lamb chops is that you can eat them with an array of different side dishes.
Chimichurri is the star of the show for this recipe. This vibrant green sauce from Argentina blends fresh herbs, garlic, vinegar, and oil. The best herbs to use for Chimichurri are parsley and oregano. However, this recipe has other variations, so feel free to use the one that suits your taste.
Using this incredible sauce will enhance the flavour of the chops and elevate the presentation of this dish. It is very easy to make Chimichurri at home. It uses only a handful of ingredients and comes together in minutes.
Cumin, Salt, Lemon, White pepper powder, Lamb Chops.
The Lamb chops are marinated with the following spices such as White pepper powder, Cumin, Salt and Lemon. This provides the Lamb chops with an unusually tangy and delicious taste. Chimichurri Sauce when drizzled on top of the grilled chops creates a spectacular medley of flavours.
Add the juice of a freshly squeezed lemon to a bowl, along with olive oil, cumin powder and white pepper powder. Mix and coat the lamb chops. Marinate for fifteen minutes. Lemon juice softens up the meat and reduces any gamy flavours. You can also marinate the meat for a longer period of time.
Add butter to your Grill pan. Butter is better than olive oil or cooking oil for grilling lamb chops. It amplifies the flavour and intensifies the taste, taking this meal to the next level. Add the chops. Grill the Lamb Chops on high-heat for approximately two mins per side for medium rare level of doneness.
Add Fresh Parsley, Fresh Oregano, Cajun Spice Salt, Pepper, Garlic, Lemon juice, red chili and olive oil to a blender. Pulse for one or two rounds and the sauce is ready.
Now that your chops are beautifully cooked, arrange them on a serving platter and generously drizzle the chimichurri sauce over the top. Your guests will be amazed at this ingenious combination. There are different types of marinade that you can prepare for the chops, consider a soy sauce or hoisin sauce blend with a touch of sesame seed oil, this will give the Lamb Chops an Asiatic flair.
You can store the chops in the fridge for two to four days. If you would extra flavour in the lamb, consider marinating it for a few hours in the fridge. You can also grill these lamb chops on a barbecue grill. Freezing lamb is relatively easy, it will store for two to three months. You can reheat it in the microwave or in the oven.
