Even though many online references indicate that Arugula and Rocket are the same, they are not. You may have noticed that both leaves have a similar appearance but different flavour components. Arugula has a robust peppery taste, whereas Rocket has a fragrant light pepper flavor. Rocket is more favorable, especially if you don’t want an overly peppery flavor in your salad.
We found that Rocket has a more pleasant taste than Arugula. However, if you cannot find Rocket at the supermarket, consider using Watercress, which has a slight pepper taste. Kale is also quite crisp in salads and an excellent substitute for Rocket. It is essential to massage the kale leaves with the salad dressing and let them rest for five minutes. Kale is known for having a bitter taste, and rubbing the leaves will rapidly reduce that bitterness.
We’ve chosen to use a store-bought Italian Salad dressing for this recipe. It is convenient and ready-made, and Italian salad dressings are available in most supermarkets worldwide. What is Italian salad dressing? It is a classic choice for many salads and is quite popular in Europe and the West. It uses spices and condiments such as olive oil, vinegar, herbs, and spices. This will result in a zesty marinade that enhances the flavours of the Rocket and Red Pepper Salad.
