Although many online sources suggest that Arugula and Rocket are the same, they are actually different. While both leaves have a similar appearance, their flavor profiles vary. Arugula is known for its strong, peppery flavor, while Rocket offers a milder, more fragrant flavor. Rocket is often preferred, particularly for those who want to avoid an overly peppery taste in their salads.
In our experience, Rocket has a more enjoyable flavor compared to Arugula. If you can’t find Rocket at your grocery store, Watercress is a great alternative, as it has a subtle peppery taste. Kale can also be a nice substitute for Rocket due to its crisp texture in salads. It’s important to massage the kale leaves with salad dressing and let them sit for five minutes. This technique helps reduce the bitterness that kale is known for, making it more palatable.
We have decided to use a store-bought Italian salad dressing for this recipe. It is convenient and readily available in most supermarkets around the world. So, what exactly is Italian salad dressing?
