Boy! I love all things Greek: the scenic islands, the beautiful people, and its incredible culture. I could go on and on. Let’s talk about Greek salad dressing. This one is a winner. If you have ever tried Greek Salad dressing, you will know it has a rich and tangy flavour.
Its a vinaigrette after all. It is meant to have a sharp and profound taste. Add in some vegetables, such as cucumbers, tomatoes, onion, and feta cheese, and you have an incredible combination of unique flavours.
Greek Salad dressing can be used in a variety of ways; it is not at all limited to Greek Salad. Add it to a pasta salad, marinate chicken, fish, roasted vegetables, and more. We love this recipe; it’s tart, tangy, and packed with incredible flavour. In fact, when you make it and drizzle it on your salad, pair it with a juicy steak, or a meal of your choice, you will completely fall in love with the combination of flavours.
Mediterranean culture has a strong tradition of using olive oil. When combined with vinegar or lemon juice, olive oil creates the core element of the perfect salad dressing. Throw in some herbs, and you will create something that the Greeks enjoyed for a long time.
Olive oil, Apple Cider Vinegar, Oregano, Salt and Pepper, Garlic, Dijon Mustard Sauce.
Greek salad dressing is versatile and can be paired with many different salads. Olive oil adds a fruity taste, while apple cider vinegar adds a tart taste. Aromatic spices such as oregano, salt, and pepper enhance the seasoning. Fresh garlic has a sharp and spicy kick. The last ingredient that completes this salad dressing is Dijon mustard, which adds a rich and creamy texture to the dressing.
Combine all ingredients into a bowl and whisk. That’s it! Greek Salad dressing is so simple to make. This is not a complex recipe. The best part about making your salad dressing at home is that it’s way healthier than the store-bought versions. This Greek Salad dressing takes less than five minutes to assemble, including gathering the ingredients from the pantry.
Traditional Greek Salad Dressing uses Red wine vinegar. However, that vinegar is incredibly sharp, and it can sometimes overpower the other ingredients, such as the vegetables. Apple cider vinegar has a fruity taste and provides a less sharp flavour. Some versions of Greek Salad dressing use more olive oil than vinegar. We prefer more vinegar; we love the tangy flavour of apple cider vinegar. If you prefer more olive oil, then you can reduce the ratio of vinegar to olive oil.
Store in the fridge. Consume within two weeks. Freezing Greek Salad dressing is not recommended; the ingredients, such as olive oil and vinegar, will become cloudy when defrosted. This salad dressing is relatively easy to put together, so it is advisable to make it fresh.
