It uses only a handful of ingredients, and once you taste it, it becomes a regular meal for lazy afternoons. The best part is that it uses chicken breasts, which are full of protein and energy. This means you will feel satiated for an extended period.
So, I’m sure you’re wondering what goes into this simple sandwich. Only a handful of ingredients include grilled chicken, mayonnaise, salt, pepper, butter, and bread. That’s it! You can grill a large amount of chicken breast and store it in the fridge. Toast up some bread, shred the chicken, and add it to a sandwich with mayonnaise, and you’re done. It is not complicated at all.

This is a straightforward lunchtime meal to prepare on a busy day. Choose any mayonnaise you prefer for this sandwich, or you can make it from scratch; we’ve been making homemade mayonnaise for a while now, which is pretty impressive.
However, if you’re short on time, consider a mayonnaise that has a creamy texture. Regular mayonnaise works well. Miracle Whip is also a great alternative, or you can choose Japanese mayonnaise, which is pretty good. Butter can be salted or unsalted. It is best to use sliced white bread; however, if you prefer brown bread, you can also go with that.
You are not limited to chicken breasts for this recipe, you can use chicken thighs or chicken drumsticks. It has to be shredded, so it will all serve the same purpose. Lettuce adds a nice crunch for this recipe.
Cook the chicken: Drizzle olive oil in a pan and add the chicken breasts. Add the spices such as Rosemary, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper. For heat, add a touch of Cajun spice. An alternative to Cajun spice is cayenne pepper or paprika powder. Flip the chicken breasts regularly.
Rest the chicken: After your chicken breast has cooked, it should be perfectly browned. This step will take six minutes per side on medium-low heat. Remove from the pan. Allow your chicken breasts to rest for five minutes on each side. Then, tear them apart with a fork.
Lettuce, Mayo, and Bread: Thoroughly wash your lettuce leaves. Let it dry or dab with a kitchen towel. Mix with mayonnaise. Butter your bread and toast on the pan. Arrange on your bread and cover thereafter serve. Your sandwich is now ready to eat. Enjoy.
