Overnight oats with matcha are a no-cook meal that is easy to prepare—just mix, refrigerate, and enjoy a delicious breakfast that fuels your day.

Oats have a fascinating history, cultivated around 2,000 years ago in Europe and Asia primarily for livestock, but later embraced as a human food source. Ancient Romans and Greeks boiled oats into a gruel for laborers, and during the Middle Ages, oats became a staple in Scotland and Ireland, often served with milk and honey.
Rolled oats, milk, sugar, chia seeds, and optional matcha powder.
Add the oats, matcha powder, sugar, and chia seeds to a bowl and mix. Add the milk. Scoop half of the portion into a glass, followed by Greek yogurt. Mix gently, cover with cling wrap, and refrigerate overnight.
This meal is often complete, but if you want to add more substance, consider pairing it with sunny-side-up eggs, Shakshuka, or scrambled eggs.
