Today, we are making a Beef & Cheese Sandwich. This recipe has all the components that make a sandwich absolutely delicious: warm, generously buttered bread with a cheesy interior that melts in your mouth, and perfectly flavoured beef mince, all encased in a delicious sandwich.

It’s time to change your perspective on what a grilled cheese sandwich can be. There are many ways to elevate this simple dish, transforming it from ordinary to extraordinary. In this recipe, we combine the classic grilled sandwich with a unique twist: ground beef, sun-dried tomatoes, black olives, and sweet corn. The savory textures and briny richness of the olives turn this basic sandwich into a gourmet experience. The Beef & Cheese Sandwich offers a delicious twist on Sloppy Joes, enhanced with robust flavors. The ground beef is seasoned with caramelized onions, oyster sauce (which can be substituted with soy sauce), parsley, and sliced black olives.
Beef mince or Chicken mince, Oyster sauce, garlic, onion, White bread or brown bread, Sweet corn, Sun-dried tomatoes and Black olives.
This Beef and Cheese Sandwich is an upscale version of a classic grilled cheese. You can choose between white and brown bread, and you can substitute beef mince for chicken mince if you prefer. The addition of oyster sauce provides a rich umami flavor, while caramelized garlic and onion add a touch of sweetness. Sun-dried tomatoes, corn, and black olives further enhance the sandwich’s flavor. This is a high-protein meal that will help keep you full for longer. You can also savor this delicious combination of ingredients in a hot dog roll.
Slice the onion and garlic as finely as possible. Preheat the pan over medium heat and add olive oil. Add the sliced onion and garlic. Cook for six minutes. The onions and garlic will caramelize and sweeten up. This step is important to infuse complex layers of flavour into the beef mince.

Start with defrosted ground beef mince. In a pan, add the beef mince, spices, oyster sauce, sweet corn, and finely chopped parsley. Mix everything well and cook. It should take about eight minutes to cook through; once done, set it aside. Next, grate the mozzarella and cheddar cheese. Using a combination of these two cheeses enhances the flavor and depth of the Beef & Cheese sandwich. Mozzarella provides a stretchy, gooey texture when heated, while cheddar adds an extra cheesy richness. Together, they create a delightful blend of “gooey cheesiness.”

Slice up black olives and sun-dried tomatoes, and finely chop parsley. Butter only one side of the sliced bread. Heat the grill pan to medium-low. Add the buttered slice of bread to the pan. Add the beef mince filling to the side without butter, then layer with olives, sun-dried tomatoes, parsley, and a combination of grated cheeses.

Cover the sandwich and toast for four minutes on each side. Grilled cheese sandwiches are versatile. You can add various ingredients to customize your sandwich according to your preference. Adding jalapenos or hot sauce can increase the spiciness.
There are so many fun things to eat alongside this dish. One of the best salads is the Greek Salad, with light flavours, the crunchiness of cucumber, and the creaminess of feta cheese. The addition of olives and mint leaves would create an incredible infusion of flavour. Other great options include Tomato Soup, Cauliflower soup, or Potato soup.
Store in an airtight container in the fridge. It will last for three to four days. You can also store the beef mince in a separate container in the refrigerator and use it throughout the week. Freeze the beef mince for later use.
