The Stove-top Method: Cut the baguette into 1-inch cubes. Preheat the pan on low heat. Add oil and cubed bread. Toss to coat the bread cubes with the oil, and toast for 5 to 8 minutes. Transfer the croutons into a bowl. Add the spices and toss to coat all the surfaces of the croutons with the seasonings.
The Oven Method with aBaking Tray: Add the cubed croutons to a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Drizzle with olive oil. Add white or black pepper, salt to the croutons. Bake for 20 minutes at 160 degrees. After you have baked the croutons, remove them from the oven. Sprinkle with the spices.
