Instructions
Cook the Beef Shanks: Wash and pat dry the beef shanks. Coat in white flour. Add olive oil and butter to a pot. Cook the beef shanks for five minutes on each side on medium high heat until it has browned. Remove from pot and set aside on a plate. Let it rest.
Cook the Vegetables: Add onion, garlic and carrots to the pot. Cook for three minutes on high heat until brown, stir consistently.
Add Spices and Tomato: Add the blended tomatoes, tomato paste, Italian herbs, paprika powder, salt, pepper, vinegar or white wine, beef stock cube. Add 1/4 cup of water and mix gently. Then re-add the beef shanks into the pot. Cook for 2 hours on your medium low temperature.
