Instructions
Preparation:
Set the stove to medium-high. Add oil to the pan, then sauté chopped onions and garlic until caramelized, about 8-10 minutes.
Tomatoes:
Use fresh tomatoes or "Passata di Pomodoro" for flavor. Italian or Spanish tomatoes work well for added sweetness.
Add the Seasoning:
Add paprika, dried thyme, dried oregano, brown sugar, and onion powder. Taste the sauce and adjust salt as needed.
Simmering:
Mix in the beans with 1/4 cup of water and let simmer for 20 minutes.
